Market Problems: –
- PAIN POINT- Mission EduReach is a social initiative commissioned to uplift poor and underprivileged students from rural and slum areas. Unlike children from urban middle-class and higher-income families, these rural/slum areas students often lack access to meaningful academic support and studies at home after school hours. While in middle-class and higher-income families, student’s mothers or grandparents devote 3 to 4 hours a day helping with studies and homework. Whereas, in case of rural and slum areas, parents are unable to devote or provide guidance due to illiteracy and poverty. This educational gap is further widened by economic hardship, lack of resources, and the absence of an encouraging learning environment.
- Statistical Facts – Gap between Rural and Urban Students/Education
- 75% Urban Dominance (2016): In 2016, a detailed analysis of the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) by IIT-Guwahati revealed that 75% of successful students came from urban areas, with the remaining 25% from rural areas.
- Rural students are significantly less likely to pursue higher education than urban students, with one study indicating a 40% lower probability.
- Literacy Rates: While literacy rates have improved overall, a notable gap remains between rural and urban areas. In 2011, the overall literacy rate was 85% in urban areas and 69% in rural areas
- Data from the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO, 2018) and University Grants Commission (UGC, 2020) reveal: Rural students are 24% less likely to complete secondary education than urban students.
- Rural youth face a 30% higher dropout rate compared to their urban peers.
- Just 4 per cent of the rural households have access to computers, compared to 23 per cent of urban households. Moreover, 14.9 per cent of rural and 42 per cent of urban households have internet access.(The Print Article-21/07/2020)
- Lack of After-School Support: Underprivileged students often lack structured learning environments outside school hours, leading to academic gaps.
- Financial Barriers: Many low-income families cannot afford private tuition or educational resources, limiting student progress.
- Limited Career Awareness: Rural and slum students have minimal exposure to career opportunities, professional mentorship, and skill-based learning.
- Educational Inequality: The gap between privileged and underprivileged students continues to widen due to inadequate resources and support systems.
- Shortage of Mentors: Many communities lack access to qualified mentors who can provide guidance and career direction.
- Insufficient Digital Access: A significant portion of students in underserved areas do not have access to online learning, restricting their educational growth.
- Low Community Engagement: Sustainable education models require long-term community participation, which remains a challenge in many rural areas.
Solutions: –
- To bridge this divide and Gap between Urban (High/middle class) and Rural poor students, Pitaji Foundation has launched an innovative intervention “Mission EduReach” by organizing dedicated study classes. These are led by an “mother-coach”—a trained educator who takes responsibility for the daily 3 hours studies and homework of 40 to 50 underprivileged students in a structured and nurturing manner. Also we train them for soft skills such as Listening, writing, reading, public speaking and computer skills in innovative ways. Through such efforts, the Foundation aims to systematically address the educational inequities faced by marginalized communities and empower underprivileged children from Rural/Slums with the tools to build a better future.
- Structured Study Clubs: We provide free after-school study clubs to support underprivileged students with continuous learning and academic assistance.
- Financial Accessibility: We eliminate cost barriers by offering free education, mentorship, and career guidance to those in need.
- Career Mentorship Programs: We connect students with mentors and industry professionals, expanding their career awareness and aspirations.
Mission Support30 : An initiative by the Pitaji M.D. Panchbhai Foundation, is a call to action for well-settled individuals to mentor 30 underprivileged citizens including 5 members from own family. These mentors guide their mentees in areas such as education, skill development, employment, health, career and social empowerment and make significant impact on mentee’s life. The mission is built on the belief that direct, personalized mentorship can lead to deep and lasting social and economic transformation.
- Bridging Educational Gaps: We create equal learning opportunities through quality education, leadership training, and skill development programs.
- Digital Learning Integration: We introduce online mentorship, virtual student exchange programs, and career workshops to enhance learning experiences.
- Community-Driven Approach: We train and empower local mentors and volunteers to sustain long-term educational impact in their communities.
- Scalable & Sustainable Model: We expand our reach by establishing study clubs in new underserved areas, ensuring more students benefit from structured educational support.
Future of Industry: –
